English Books (2): Hamlet y la amiga fea.

Falling for Hamlet

Libro que conocí gracias a una entrada en Pulso acelerado. Parece un poco típico (y lo será) pero a mí me gustan estos libros típicos.

Sinopsis:
Meet Ophelia, high school senior, daughter of the Danish king's most trusted adviser, and longtime girlfriend of Prince Hamlet. She lives a glamorous life and has a royal social circle and her beautiful face is splashed across magazines and television screens. But it comes with a price. Her life is dominated not only by Hamlet's fame and his overbearing royal family but also by the paparazzi who hound them wherever they go. After the sudden and suspicious death of his father, the king, Hamlet spirals dangerously toward madness and Ophelia finds herself torn between loyalty to her boyfriend, her father, her country and her true self. In this stunning contemporary retelling of Shakespeare's Hamlet from Ophelia's point of view, debut author Michelle Ray brilliantly weaves together old and new. Filled with drama, romance, tragedy, and humor, Fallling for Hamlet is a compulsively readable novel. And this time, Ophelia doesn't die. Take that, Hamlet!

The duff

Sinopsis:
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn't think she's the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She's also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her "the Duff," she throws her Coke in his face. But things aren't so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him. Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn't such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she's falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone. And eventually, through this realization, Bianca begins to see how harmful her unhealthy way of dealing with her problems has been, and finds a way to confront them head on.

Falling for Hamlet tiene una pinta estupenda, a pesar del spoiler gordísimo que tiene la sinopsis ;)
